More customer choice = higher revenue
On 07.03.2003
"Zacky" Marikar, chairman of The Change Group International plc, has challenged the convention by which airports tend to restrict head-to-head competition between rival money-changing operations. In an interview to be published in the ACI-Europe magazine, Dr Zackariya-Marikar debunked this approach as being based on an "airport myth".

"Most bureaux only attract and trade with one or two in every hundred passing travellers," he said. "Is this ‘the natural level’ or a missed opportunity? Our experience is that more income for the airport can be generated when customer can see two or more bureaux competing for their business. And the bureaux have to work harder to attract travellers and convert them into customers. We are very happy to compete head to head and our experience shows that this can increase revenue for the airport as well as delivering a better deal for the traveller".
